Why SAMe?

  • SAMe is an endogenous substance found in all cells of the human body.

  • Essential for the methylation cycle, it represents the main donor of methyl groups in the CNS.

  • It has been shown that , in depressed patients, there is a reduction of SAMe in cerebrospinal fluid.
SAMe CYCLE

Sumor tablets retard contains.

  • BETAINE (trimethylglycine) methylating agent. It is successfully used for the treatment of hyperhomocysteinemia. It shows hepatoprotective and neuroprotective action against alcohol-induced damage other than antioxidant action. By yielding methyl groups, it converts homocysteine to SAMe enhancing its activity on mood.

  • SELENIUM is an antioxidant agent that has an important action against free radicals along with Glutathione (produced via the transulfuration pathway). Adequate selenium blood levels have been linked with a reduced risk of depression and an improved cognitive performance.

  • VITAMINS B6,B12 and FOLATE are essential coenzymes in the SAMe cycle and in many endogenous reactions. Low blood levels are associated with a higher incidence of depressive symptoms and worse cognitive performance.

  • VITAMIN C has antioxidant action and has been show to reduce depressive symptoms in experimental models.

Why all the other substances?

Folates Vit B6 Vit B12 and Betaine transform homocysteine ( SAMe waste product) by the regeneration of SAMe.

Selenium along with Glutathione (obtained by homocysteine to cysteine transformation via B6) have antioxidant and detoxifying actions.

Sumor tablets is a retard formulation (the tablet is breakable)

Delayed-release formulation that disintegrates at intestinal level gradually releasing the active ingredients after 6/8 hours.
